2. Data We Collect
We collect the following types of data when you use Gustus:
Account Data
Email address: Collected when you sign in with Google via Supabase
Display name: Your name from your Google profile
Avatar URL: Profile picture URL from your Google profile
Authentication identifiers: User ID and provider information managed by Supabase Auth
User-Generated Content
When you use Gustus to log your coffee experiences, we store:
Coffee brew logs including recipe details (dose, yield, temperature, time, grind settings, brew method, device)
Ratings and sensory evaluations (body, sweetness, bitterness, acidity, clarity, aftertaste)
Taste tags and feeling tags
Free-text notes including aroma notes, taste notes, and cooling notes
Visibility settings for your brews (private or public)
Technical and Log Data
We collect limited operational logs necessary for the app to function, including authentication
events and API requests. These logs do not contain personal content such as your notes or ratings.
3. How We Use Data
We use the data we collect to:
Authenticate your account and provide secure access to the app
Store and display your coffee logs, ratings, and notes
Enable you to view and manage your brewing history
Allow you to share your brews publicly (if you choose to make them visible)
Maintain app security and prevent unauthorized access
Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries
4. Sharing and Third-Party Processing
We share your data with the following third-party service providers:
Supabase
Purpose: Authentication and database hosting
Data processed: All account data, authentication credentials, and user-generated content
We do not sell, rent, or otherwise monetize your personal data. We only share data as necessary
to provide the service and as described in this policy.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data and user-generated content for as long as your account is active.
If you delete your account, we will permanently delete:
Your user profile (email, display name, avatar URL)
All your coffee brew logs and associated recipe details
All your ratings, notes, and tags
Deletion is immediate and permanent. Data cannot be recovered after deletion. Backups may
contain deleted data for a short period until backup retention expires, but we do not maintain
backups of deleted data long-term.
We implement security measures to protect your data, including:
Encryption in transit using TLS/HTTPS for all data transmission
Access controls and authentication to ensure only authorized users can access their data
Database-level security including row-level security policies
While we take reasonable steps to secure your data, no method of transmission or storage is
100% secure. Please use strong authentication and do not share your account credentials.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Access: You can view all your data within the Gustus app
Correction: You can update your profile information and edit your coffee logs at any time
Deletion: You can delete individual brews or your entire account at any time
Data Portability: Contact us at eldelielev@gmail.com to request a copy of your data
Gustus is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal
information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child
under 13, please contact us at eldelielev@gmail.com and we
will take steps to delete that information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes
by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and, where appropriate, through in-app
notifications. Your continued use of Gustus after changes become effective constitutes acceptance
of the updated policy.
